Arrange marriage decreased from 68% to 44% in 3 years

 Love marriages are becoming common in India now. Arrange marriages have decreased by 24% in the last three years only. According to Wedding Wire India's survey, in the year 2020, about 68% of new couples said that their marriage was arranged, but in 2023, only 44% of new couples said about arranged marriage. This survey report also states that 41% of couples plan their wedding 4-6 months in advance, but 32% of couples decide to get married within 1 to 3 months. The report also states that in 72% of cases in India, the engagement time is less than 6 months, while in other countries it can be several years. So here the couples get very little time to plan the wedding. Now a days wedding planning couples are making more use of online resources. Anam Zubair, Head of Marketing, Wedding Wire India, says that India's urban middle class is readily accepting love marriages. They are also doing love marriage in the same way as Orange.
